“I’ve already run for dear life straight to the arms of God”. Psalm 11:1(MSG)
There are all kinds of things in life that want to chase us down—fear, discouragement, guilt and shame; past regrets, failures, or mistakes made. There can also be other people’s thoughts, opinions, demands, or pressures to perform.  And sometimes running is good—as long as you know where you are running too!

You can leave behind all that is stress and strife and head straight into the embrace of God, where redeeming love awaits. There is comfort, security—safety from harm—love and forgiveness—things made right that went terribly wrong.

Patience, protection, freedom and joy—restoration and fresh beginnings when everything else is destroyed.

Oh yes, precious one, run for dear life.  Run for new life, run for acceptance and healing, for blessing, and for peace.  Run home into the strong arms of God, always open, always welcoming, always available to you.

Run home, dear heart, and you will see.  Everything you need is there for you. The best is yet to be!

Prayer:

Jesus, so many times when I think I have done something wrong or am something wrong, I have run away from You instead of towards You.

I have tried to hide inside myself for fear that You, and everyone else, would not accept me for who I am.

I have believed the lies about the lack, that there is not enough, that I am not enough, instead of running to You to hear the truth, for You are Truth.

Today, Lord, I ask You to shine the light of Your love into the deepest places of my heart.  In all the places where darkness has replaced Your glorious light, I ask to be set free.

Purify me today Jesus, in Your redeeming love. Remove all that is not of You and bring me back into alignment with Your divine will and purposes for my life.

Sovereign God, Ruler over all Creation, Creator, Redeemer, Friend, I run to You, into the fullness of Who You are, into the welcome of Your outstretched arms.

Hold me tight Lord I pray.  I need You, each and every day.
