For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colours] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery]. Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them”. Psalm 139:13-16 (MSG)
Contained within these precious words of Scripture is the assurance of knowing that the God of all Creation, wise in every way, has formed and fashioned you, with loving care and focused attention to every exquisite detail. He was well pleased with the work of His hands, determining that you, just exactly as you are, were so rare and priceless to Him, that He would never make another person exactly as He has made loved and lovely, you!
Not only were you made unique, and with purpose, but all your days were intentionally written by God before they ever took shape—nothing vague or random here—but purposefully planned and important enough to write down!
Others may try to add in a line or two, on what those days should look like—parents, spouses, friends, even ourselves; but good ideas are not nearly as beneficial as God ideas! His ways are higher, better, brighter, wiser, than ours, and what He has arranged for us, is greater than anything we could ever ask for, or imagine.
Dearest beauty, all of your days have been written already! Each one perfectly planned. Just follow the paths He has made; in the fullness of life He has prepared. Trust in God, Who is good, and trust in the abundance of goodness in His heart for you. Deeply loved one, you have some great living to do!
I thank You Father that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I don’t always feel that way, but I believe what Your Word says. In all the ways I cannot see myself the way You see me, I ask that You would open my eyes to the wonder of who I am meant to be.
You see something in me that I may not see, and I so want to be all that You created me to be.
Thank you for the purpose and the plan that You have made for me, long before the beginning of time. In all the places and ways, I have walked away from Your perfect plan, I ask that You would lead me back to what You have intended for my life.
All the beauty, all the wonder, all the freedom that Jesus has gained. I receive it all—even the length of day—and I celebrate the work of Your hands Lord. In others, in the world, and even though it is hard at times—in me!
Bless You Lord for Your amazing goodness and Your abundant grace!
In Jesus Name I pray.
