Some of you wandered for years in the desert, looking but not finding a good place to live, Half-starved and parched with thirst, staggering and stumbling, on the brink of exhaustion. Then, in your desperate condition, you called out to GOD. He got you out in the nick of time; He put your feet on a wonderful road that took you straight to a good place to live. So, thank GOD for his marvellous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves. He poured great draughts of water down parched throats; the starved and hungry got plenty to eat”. Psalm 107:4-9 (MSG)
No matter where you find yourself on the path of life today—exactly where God intended for you to be, or in a far-off land somewhere you never thought you would be—He knows! God never loses sight of where you are, for you are His beloved child. He never loses sight of who you were created to be. He is forever holding before Him the promised filled places ahead, with mercy always at the ready, to lead the way.
In the midst of the weariness you may be feeling, or the thirst that comes when the journey is long, and the ground is dry and hard, call out to Jesus, Who knows exactly what you need, and is the very One Who will meet those needs. He is there, beloved, with His abundant love, care, and the substance of all you require. You can trust that He is at work in all things concerning you, even when you cannot see.
He will send rains of refreshing for your weary soul, and food that satisfies far beyond your immediate hunger, to the greater needs and the deepest desires of your soul. Holy Spirit is right there with you to help you day by day, with the big things and the small, leading, guiding, and loving you through it all.
Surrounded in love, covered in abundant grace and tender devotion, you can dance upon the well charted path laid out for you. Dance straight into the fullness of God’s perfect plans; His well-timed help, and bountiful provision all set apart already, for deeply and divinely loved, you!
Jesus, I thank You that in all the roads I have travelled, good, bad, and mis-directed; in the messes and the mis-steps, You were there. I see now that it wasn’t always Your perfect plans for me, or what You had in mind, for You can see what I cannot. And when I went my own way, I so often walked away from Your best.
Open my eyes today, Holy Spirit, to see as the Father sees, to re-orient my vision in alignment with His, so I can walk on the wonderful road He has planned—to the good place He has for me to live.
I so long to be in the centre of Your will Lord, for there I will find immeasurable peace and prosperity; the shalom that comes from being lost, and found, in You.
In Your precious and Holy Name, I pray.
