Let us go into His tabernacle; let us worship at His footstool”. Psalm 132:7 (AMPC)
Have you ever needed a safe place just to sit and unwind? A chance to lean all that is weary within, against another’s strong arms and strength. To close your eyes, feel secure, and abide? It takes a lot of trust to do that, and as much as we want that trust and security, we can find ourselves instead in situations or relationships where we have to stand on guard—shields up, walls secured. Feeling safe at times to a degree, yet somehow still alone.
Yet here is the God of all Creation, the One Who holds the whole universe in His hands, extending this soul healing invitation to you, precious one. “Come close”, He says. “Lay your weary head upon My chest. Breathe in the comfort and the care. Sit at My feet. Lean in, and lean on Me. I will never leave you, forsake you, or abandon you in any way. You are safe here, beloved, in the centre of My heart. A space I created for you where we are never apart”. The Holy One of Israel is, and has, all the love and all the strength you will ever need. He is reliable and safe—as safe as anyone could ever be!
No need to speak if you don’t want to, in the calming peace of His presence, for He knows the deepest concerns of your heart beyond what words could possibly convey. You can go to where He is, to His dwelling place, and live in His love, any time, night or day. You can worship Him too, in the beauty of His holiness, for He is worthy of all praise. Then stay a while and see that in His heart is unwavering love for you—a sanctuary safe and secure—a place to dwell, to belong, to be.
God also looks for a dwelling where He can rest and remain. He says that your heart, to Him, is just that. The place He longs for, to stay, and reside. Perfect to Him in every way—nothing you have to give Him, except a welcome into your heart, and your yes. His joy is complete when you make His heart your home, and His pleasure fulfilled in making your heart, His home too!
This divine exchange of life and love, is the greatest thing you could ever do!
Oh Lord my God, how awesome it is to think that You, in all the wonder of Who You are, in Your greatness and Your majesty, would want to dwell within me! Who I am Lord that it could be so!
Yet this is Your desire, Lord, and Jesus has made a way, for He is the way.
Today I say, come into my heart afresh. Live, abide, and dwell in me and allow me dearest Lord, to abide richly in You.
In this gift of life so rich and sweet, I have found my true home, and I am complete.
In the precious Name of Jesus, my Saviour and my Salvation song, I pray.
