And here’s why: God gives out Wisdom free, is plain spoken in Knowledge and Understanding. He’s a rich mine of Common Sense for those who live well, a personal bodyguard to the candid and sincere. He keeps his eye on all who live honestly, and pays special attention to his loyally committed ones”. Proverbs 2:6-8 (MSG)

Imagine a personal bodyguard, generous in wisdom and full of knowledge, looking after you wherever you go! Going ahead of you to prepare the way, with eyes of understanding alert to your needs and best interests, every moment of the day. Imagine no more, divinely loved one, as this is not a far-off fantasy to dream about, but instead your very real and present reality—contained in the life you have with God, the One Who loves you so. 

As we walk in the paths He sets for us (what glorious paths they are) and stay steadfast in His ways (such wonderful ways to behold) His promises remain forever true. He watches over and pays special attention to you. 

You are not alone, dear heart. Not now. Not ever. Just stay close, that’s all He asks—so you can hear Him when He speaks, and answer when He calls. In all of your days, treasured child—God, wonderful and wise, is taking care of you! Releasing, His life-giving, life-saving, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, by the power and presence of the precious Holy Spirit, to you!

Prayer:

I need Your wisdom and Your guidance every day, Lord. I confess that is true. Forgive me for all the ways and times I have gone my own way and listened to everyone else but You. That has not gone so well, Jesus. Now, I look to, and I lean into, You.

Lead me and guide me today, I pray. Keep me close to Your wisdom and attune my ears to the sound of Your voice—let me be led always but Your redeeming love and restoring grace.

Come Holy Spirit of the Living God. Guide me to the safe harbour and the paths of peace the Lord has lovingly planned. 

With a heart of deepest thanksgiving, and a desire to be led by You, I pray.
