Don’t ever say, 'I’m going to get even with them if it’s the last thing I do!' Wrap God’s grace around your heart and he will be the one to vindicate you”. Proverbs 20:22 (TPT)
It is pretty much impossible to go through life without being hurt or offended, lied to or about, misused, or misunderstood. The temptation, and it is a strong one, is to take matters in your own hands to get justice, to speak your truth, and try to make it right.
Instead, a far better way is to give the pain, the wounding, the feelings of betrayal, to God Himself, for He understands as no one else could, then watch Him do what He will do.
In your hands, limited results may be possible, and revenge extracted only feels good for a moment, if that! However, in His loving care your own heart is protected and healed, and the whole situation will be taken care of in ways you could not possibly have known to do.
We see in part but He knows the whole picture. Find your place of grace in the safety of His heart. Rest in the fact that He knows what is truth, and let that truth set you free. He will take of it for you, dear heart, better than you can imagine, and He will take care of you!
I take You at Your word today, Lord, and I receive Your promise, that if I hand all the pain, all the wounding, all the mis-understandings, and misery to You—You will take care of it all and I can rest in what You alone will do.
Forgive me for the times I have wounded others by trying to do things my own way in my own time, instead of looking to You first, relying on Your wisdom, and trusting You.
Where I have been in the wrong Lord, help me to make it right. Where others have wronged me, in ways that still hurt, I hand it all over to You.
Come Lord Jesus, be the Lord of my life. Advocate, and speak to me, and for me, in ways that only You can do. In all things now, I look to You.
Wrapped in Your kindness and grace, I pray.
