Now will I arise, says the Lord, because the poor are oppressed, because of the groans of the needy; I will set him in safety and in the salvation for which he pants”. Psalm 12:5 (AMPC)
There are many ways to be poor as most of us know. We can be poor in spirit—not knowing the Lord. We can be poor in heart—feeling an emptiness deep within. We can be poor in relationships and lonely in life, feeling lost and alone. In addition, our bank accounts can reflect a very different type of poverty, when provisions are low and we live in lack. The needs are all different, but each one is very real.

These limits and lack do not come from your Heavenly Father, for He has promised instead that He will arise and rescue, protect and provide for all who call upon Him—who reach out to Him for help. And although there is a very real enemy in our lives who wants to keep us down and force us out of the good things God has for you—one who tries to keep us in lack, poverty, and pain—your God is greater than it all! Your Loving Father’s plan is to bless you and to provide for you in every area of need; to answer every hope; and to fulfill every desire in ways you could not possibly imagine or perceive.

Nothing can stand against this truth, chosen one, unless you allow it. Come away from everything that holds you back, hems you in, or causes you to remain hidden. Come away from all that others have said or done, limits or lies you have believed and step instead into the glorious truth your Risen Saviour, Jesus, has for you. You are the joy of His heart, the apple of God’s eye. You have an inheritance that is rich, and full, and you are loved.

Live in that love today and celebrate, for it comes as a free gift to you. Then let that same love shine through you, sharing this same good news—freedom, deliverance, God’s saving grace, is for everyone. For you and for all who will believe. Jesus has made it so!

Prayer:

Lord, You hear the cry of my heart today, for myself and for those I carry in my heart. You see the empty places in our lives, and you hear the longings of words unspoken—the depths of despair when the pain is so deep and things never seem to change.

But still, You are my Champion Defender, the One Who is running towards me with salvation at hand. My True Hero Who comes to the rescue, filling up all that is lacking, making the crooked places straight; making something out of nothing. Making it all turn out right.

With a grateful heart, to the One Who is worthy, I pray.
