“So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper];” Col 3:12 (AMPC)
There are many injustices in the world, some come to us, and some are enacted through us. Whenever and however they occur, they can be hurtful and hard to endure. Yet God, Who loves us so and has set us apart for His own chosen people, has modeled a way to navigate through.
Instead of putting on bitterness as a shield, and retaliation as our sword, He Who Himself is clothed with patience, kindness, gentleness, and compassion, encourages us to put on these same attributes and respond just as He would do! These are the chosen garments made for the cherished child of the King.
Put them on first for yourself, when you do those things you wish you had not done, said what you would have rather not said. Remember you are learning and growing too so be patient, forgiving, and kind to you! And then for others who have hurt or wounded, we say, “Father, forgive them. They know not what they do.” After all, that is the gift He has given you too!
Treasured one, you are deeply loved by God Himself. Whatever someone else, even you, has made wrong, don’t you think He will make it right? Hand the injustice over to Him, allowing Him to take all that was wrong, and bring forth the very best of what is right.
Stay hidden in His righteousness, surrounded by His love, and wear the attire of a sanctified one, abiding in all that is good and true! Oh my, beloved, it all looks so very beautiful on absolutely beautiful you!
