Protect me from harm; keep an eye on me like you would a child reflected in the twinkling of your eye. Yes, hide me within the shelter of your embrace under your outstretched wings”. Psalm 17: 8-9 (TPT)

There can be days when everything seems set against us, with enemies of one form or another pressings in on every side—robbers of peace, time, hope, or joy—even our sense of self, and well-being in the world, if we let them. 

Other times the enemy is us—telling ourselves we are not worthy or worth it. That we messed up, missed the mark, or just missed out. Then comes our Hero God onto the scene and into the situation—the sweetest part of our lives and our Salvation Song. He sees and knows us for who we are and Who He made us to be. 

His eyes are on us at all times; His arms outstretched to hold us, to hide us, to keep us safe. Here in this place of love, this shelter from life storms, Truth speaks. “You are lovely”, He will say, “You can be free. Follow Me into the fullness of all I have for you. Don’t look to the left or the right but keep your eyes on Me. Don’t listen if it is not My voice—within or without. And stay close, for I have you. You belong to Me”. 

Oh, precious treasure of the King, this is the best news yet. Your life is hidden in the heart of the Eternal One, where you are safe, protected, loved, valued, adored (yes, adored!) and gloriously free. In all the world, in all of time, there is no better place to be!

Prayer:

Hide me today, Lord, under the shelter of Your wings. Keep me safe in Your loving care so that I may be hidden in all the ways I need to be hidden; knowing I am always seen, heard, and completely understood by You!

I rest here, Poppa, in quietness and trust. For when I trust You, with and in all things, everything turns out for the best!

I thank You that Your eyes of love are upon me at all times, and I am safe, tucked up and held secure, in Your redeeming love.
