Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me”. John 15:4 (AMPC)
Our union with Jesus is where our new life, our true life, both begins and is sustained. Because of this connection with Him, we can live in unending, unbroken, companionship with His Father, Who is our Father too. In the light of His bountiful and gracious love, needs and desires become longings fulfilled. Heartaches and heartbreaks are healed. Hopes are restored and renewed. As we surrender all that we are to Him, we receive all that He is, in its place.

To experience the destiny we were born to walk in, it is essential that we remain vitally united (“united” from the Latin “unus”, meaning “one” and “vitally” being indispensable to the continuance of life) with Jesus. In this way, we become a single unit joined together, no longer alone, no longer two, but we are one with the fullness of the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

As you take Him at His word and say yes to the oneness He offers, two streams begin to flow together—He in you and you in Him. This union is so complete, so pure, that you cannot tell where one begins, and one ends. You think His thoughts; He understands your heart. You surrender your life to Him; He sustains you with His own.

Pick up all the pieces you hold so dear, chosen one, both the beautiful and the broken, and release them to Jesus, the Source of all life. Watch and see then, as His life blood flows into all the withered places, making them whole, and the dried-up bits produce a harvest of joy beyond what you could imagine.

Dwell richly in His love, treasured child of God, and allow the One Who is Love, to dwell fully in you. Oh, the fullness of life that is waiting for you—always and forever—set apart for deeply loved and eternally cherished, you!

Prayer:

Precious Jesus, I have held on to the broken pieces of my life for such a long time, it has been hard to tell where I begin and the brokenness ends. In my own strength, I try to fix it—to make better what I have broken, or what has broken me, and when I cannot, I try to hide or disappear.

Thank You blessed Saviour for showing me that there is another way to walk through the days, and that way is to be vitally united with the abundance of life that is found in You alone!

Today, Jesus, I invite You into the shattered bits of my life; the places that feel less than, and mainly loss; the places that work, but are not what You had in mind. I choose instead to be connected to You in a way that restores and renews what is broken or lost, and makes all things new.

Come now, precious Lord. I desire to be vitally united to You. Come and redeem, save, and restore my life, so that the beauty of Your life in me, shines through.
