For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household”. Ephesians 2:18-19 (NIV)
Belonging somewhere to someone, is a wonderful thing! We are wired for connection and community, which is why we keep trying so hard, even at times to our own detriment and heartbreak, to connect with others in a meaningful way.
No matter what the past has taught you, or what the present is shouting at you, this timeless truth of belonging is louder than it all! You are a chosen member of God’s own household. You have the same access, rights, and privileges in relationship with your heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ your Saviour and God’s own Son, as everyone else—no matter how holy they seem or how hopeless you feel. There is no person greater or less than in His Kingdom of love.
You have a place in this world and in the Father’s heart that belongs just to you. And along with that you have unity of heart—through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, with His entire family—on earth and in heaven too!
Never again will you be alone for you have a loving Father, Who not only welcomes and receives you, but Who celebrates the wonder of His beautiful creation—and that’s you!
Be at peace, dear heart, in who you are, for you are exactly who God made you to be, and no one will ever be a more perfect you, than you already are!
Lord, I bring my heart to You today for healing and for help, in all the ways and places where belonging has been painful or non-existent, I welcome You in. To risk and to try again, to love and be loved, is scary, but in You, I know my heart is safe.
Thank You Father that I am Your child, fully, completely, accepted, loved, cared for, and adored! Thank You for the rich inheritance I have as a member of Your family, and that I am a part of such a large and loving family too!
Draw me in today Lord, to that place where I am safe. Teach me Your greater truths of my place of belonging in You, and let all that is set against those truths, be removed.
Jesus, in Your Name, and by the power of the precious Holy Spirit, I pray.
