“And he [Abram] believed in (trusted in, relied on, remained steadfast to) the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness (right standing with God).” Genesis 15:6 (AMP)
God is good and because of that goodness all of His thoughts, words, and actions are overflowing with kind intentions towards you. He never changes. He cannot lie, nor would He ever mislead you in any way.
It can be difficult to trust in that truth at times, wondering, is He really there? Does He see what I am going through, and if so, does He care? Within that uncertainty we may hang on in fear to all that concern or consume us, unable to let go and embrace the help He is offering. However, His strong right arm is always at the ready to pull us out of whatever mess we find ourselves in. His heart’s desire is to place us on the solid ground of His nature, character, and the promises found in the centre of His divine and perfect will. Despite all of those promises, we may hold tight to the edge of that cliff even still.
Dear heart, if you cannot completely trust and believe in God’s faithfulness for yourself today, look back to the ones like Abram and Sarah, who held on to the promises given, with faith-filled hope, despite the seemingly immoveable impossibilities. Or like Peter who stepped away from the stirred up seas in the midst of the storm, and stepped towards the beckoning arms of His greater salvation, found in Jesus, His Saviour and Friend. And Paul who said these chains around me, have nothing on me, for Christ in me has set me free!
Their stories are our stories. Their history laying the firm foundation of faith that we can stand on now. As they placed their hope, and trust, in the One Who is faithful and true, they showed us all exactly what to do!
Oh, precious one, you must know that this very same mountain moving God is the One Who is looking out for, and looking after you!
