God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating”. Colossians 1:13–14 (MSG, emphasis added)
Sometimes, brokenness enters into one generation and stays for many. A father is an alcoholic, and the following generations are affected by the pain and destruction that he brought into the family. They in turn look for ways to stop their own pain and far too often end up being held captive by the very things that they were trying to find freedom from.

Sickness and disease can run like a curse from one generation to the next, until one person comes along to change the family legacy. God looks for one who will stand in the gap—the gap between the way things are and the way He desires them to be. Those who will invite Him into their lives to bring healing and impart wholeness in all the broken places. Even now, you can be that brave one, the one who says “no more” to the robbery and pain. The one who agrees with God’s best and says, “yes” to Him and all He has ordained.

Regardless of how many generations of trauma, shame or pain; suffering or sorrow that may exist in your family line; with His help, you can be the one to turn the tide. Receive His transforming power into your life today, to bring the needed change. See the curse reversed and rivers of healing run through the generations, those on the earth now, and those that are yet to be.

With God, all things are possible—even this, beloved! Even this. For brokenness was never His desire for you, instead wholeness, help, and healing are at hand!

Prayer:

Jesus, I come to You today, on behalf of myself and my family, and I ask forgiveness for all and any ways we have partnered with the enemy in our lives, giving him legal access to rob, steal, and destroy.

I thank You that sin confessed is sin forgiven, and with the forgiveness of sins, and the cleansing of Your precious Blood, all the sin, and the consequences of sin, can be washed away. You are my Saviour Jesus, my Healer, Defender, and Friend. Come now and wash me clean of all that is not of You, and in Your grace and kindness, let these healing waves of grace, wash over my family too.

I know when I cry to You, You hear me. You send Your help, and save me—from sin, from sickness, from the enemy of my soul, and from myself, and all the ways I have not followed You or walked in Your best.

I do say “no” to all that is not of You today and a resounding “yes” to all that You dream and desire. May all Your dreams, in the full measure of Your mercy, come true!

Jesus, my Hero Redeemer, thank You that You have made it so. Faithful is our Glorious King.
