“[And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me.” Isaiah 49:15-16 (AMPC)
There are moments and memories in life that are so important to cherish as we hold them close and dear. Memories of love and kindnesses that have sustained us; sacrifices made by others, family, friends; and even the generations that have gone before us—all of which we are so grateful for.
And the great sacrifice of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, Who died so that all men would be free!
Then there are those memories that do not bring life, which we may choose to forget, wish we could forget, or perhaps areas that God calls us to leave behind and remember no more!
As we celebrate all that is worthy to be remembered, and let go of all that God has already let go of, we cling tightly to this one abiding truth—the Maker of Heaven and Earth, your Kinsman Redeemer—will never forget you! He has imprinted your picture on the palms of His hands (a very beautiful picture indeed!) where you remain always. Face to face, He whispers, “Remember, you are mine. You are chosen and adored. Never to be removed.” No one can take you from that place!
Protected in the shadow of His hand, everything about you is before Him. Promises for and over your life were made, dear heart, before you were born. Those He remembers also, and Jesus will lovingly guide you, to see them all come true!
