[And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me”. Isaiah 49:15-16 (AMPC)
There are moments and memories in life that are so important to us; family times; the kindness of others; moments that stole our heart or took our breath away. Conversely, there can also be remembrances that do not bring life.  Times we may choose to forget; wish we could forget; or are called by God to forget.  And in His mercy, leave behind, and remember no more!

As we celebrate all that is worthy to be remembered and let go of all that God has already let go of, we cling tightly to this one abiding truth—Jesus, your Kinsman Redeemer, the One Who is faithful and true—will never forget you! He has imprinted your picture on the palms of His hands (a very beautiful picture indeed!) where you remain always. Face to face, He whispers, “Remember, you are mine. You are chosen and adored. You are in my heart forever. Never to be removed.” No one can take you from that place, beloved, because God Himself wants you there.

Protected in the shelter of His strong and capable hands, everything about you is before Him. Promises for, and over your life, were made, with thought and painstaking care, before you were even born. Those promises are ever before Him and He is working them out even now.

Don’t worry, beloved, if you lose sight of all the Father has promised, for the Holy Spirit will encourage you, and Jesus will lovingly guide you, to see them all come true!

And God, Your God, will never lose sight of you!

Prayer:

Abba Father, what better place in all the world could I be, then living in the centre of Your love, carried by grace, held secure in the palm of Your hand.

This is where I belong, Lord, where I came to be. Here I remain, even now, safe and strong in Your love, and free. Father to the fatherless; Mother to all who are besieged; You are loving and kind. You are all, and everything, I need.

Forever in Your gaze Jesus, may I live my life, my truest life, in You.
