“And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham [My friend and servant] what I am going to do.” Genesis 18: 17 (AMPC)
Everyone appreciates the gift of good friends, where would we be without them—but a friend of God, and a friend to God—no greater affection could there be!
Friends care about what you carry in your heart, what brings you joy, wounds, and heals. In the same way, but magnified greatly, God cares for you—deeply, intimately, passionately—as only the dearest and most trustworthy companion can do. Your heart is His treasure—for you are God’s friend too.
He wants to share with you those things that matter most of all to Him—what He cares about, dreams and hopes for, and He longs to hear those very same things from you. You were created by God, for fellowship with God. To walk together in the beauty of all He has made and to share a relationship like no other. You have been invited into a life of intimacy, to learn of His great love—for you and for all mankind; to abide in His glory, and to share the glory of His love, with others.
What an invitation this is, friendship with the King! Oh beloved, take His hand, walk with Him in the cool of the day—let Him tell you all He so longs to say. Then share your heart with Him too.
Your friendship and your love, make His heart sing, and in every way, will brighten both of your days!
Faithful Father and Friend, how wonderful that is to even say! To imagine that You would desire that kind of friendship and fellowship with me is greater that I can imagine.
And yet Lord, You said it was true, and so today, in this day, I give my heart afresh to You. Come and be my friend today Lord—the best friend I could ever have, and teach me, show me, how to be a good friend to You!
In the Name of Jesus, Friend to us all, I pray.
