This forever-song I sing of the gentle love of God! Young and old alike will hear about your faithful, steadfast love — never failing”! Psalm 89:1 (TPT)
On Valentine’s Day where songs are sung, cards are written, flowers given and received—hearts are put out there—worn on the sleeve, so to speak, accepted readily or rejected painfully. It all feels like a gamble, this business of love; a risk sometimes too hard to take. Love hurts they say, but the actual truth is—true love, God’s love, heals.
His love is gentle, kind, patient, and unwavering in its devotion. It never forgets and never gives up, for it is kind, long-suffering, always believing the best. It is faithful, steadfast, and true, and 100% focused on you!
Now, that is a song worth singing and singing your whole life through! Delightfully loved one, the God of all Creation is wildly in love with, and continually rejoicing, over you!
I thank You Lord, that in all the ways and times I have been, or felt rejected, You have picked me up—loving me always—delighting in me—even when I could not see.
Open my eyes today, Lord, to see what I cannot see—to see You for Who You really are and not through my veiled or limited understanding—and to see how You really see and feel about me.
I know Poppa, that if I can grasp that truth, surrounded in Your love, and wrap-around presence, I will be truly free!
