He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction”. Psalm 107:20 (AMPC)
Beloved one, think of the pits we can find ourselves in—they may come in various shapes and sizes, large and small, but they most certainly come to us all! Some are familiar—maybe from our family of origin—patterns we find ourselves falling back into over and over. Some pits we stay in so long, we start to decorate the walls. The thing is, they are not God’s best for us. His desire is to rescue us out of whatever low places we have fallen, or been forced into: the destruction that comes from others; and the destruction that comes from within.
Take His hand, dear heart. He is near. Give your heart to Him, freely and without fear. He will scoop you up in His strong arms, wrap you in His loving embrace, and set your feet to dancing, in a brand new place!
I thank You today Precious Lord that You have spoken Your words over my life and they are at work even now. They are words of life and healing and hope—bringing Your light to bear in every situation—driving the darkness away.
I am here Lord, standing in the light of Your love, looking, longing, waiting and watching for Your words of life from above.
I scoop them up Lord, treasures from heaven. I listen and I learn as You lead me out of every place I should not be in, and set me in the centre of Your love. The place I was made for. The place I long to be. Shatter the steel bars Lord; snap every one of my chains; and set me free.
I will sing the songs of your marvellous miracles. What a joyous song it will be!
