“Like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child within me [ceased from fretting].” Psalm 131:2b (AMPC)
God longs for each person He created to feel valued, love, and adored—to receive the strength and support that comes to a father’s love and the tender nurture, and constant care, of a mother’s heart. In reality though, few of us have known that kind of love from our parents, because fathers and mothers are very often broken themselves. With no malicious intent in most cases, they may have passed a degree of that brokenness onto us.
You may have felt, or are feeling now, a void of love and nurture, an emptiness deep inside. Maybe you are bearing the pain of all that was done, or not done, as it should have been, while you were growing up. Please know that it is never too late to have your own heart healed, and to have God’s love, as both mother and father, revealed.
No matter how the years have unfolded, whether in perfection or in pain, His love for you is constant—deep and abiding, tender and true. His love is nurturing, protecting, reviving, and completely focused on you.
He is Father to the fatherless, bringing healing and hope. He is Mother to those whose hearts are hurting, bringing comfort and kind-hearted care. Cherished one, you are His child—the object of his love and affection. He is attentive always, to your heart’s cry, and to your deepest need. Whatever it is today, large or small, His arms are open and waiting. No need to worry or to fear. He has you precious one, and His love covers all!
