“She will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus [the Greek form of the Hebrew Joshua, which means Savior], for He will save His people from their sins [that is, prevent them from [a]failing and missing the true end and scope of life, which is God].” Matthew 1:20 AMPC
Here is a promise steadfast and true—Jesus, your Lord and Saviour, has come to rescue you! In all His power and glory, He will save you from the things that you are aware of—pain of the past, disappointments large and small, heart aches and heart breaks, for He knows them all. And He will save you from any fear of the future too—fear of what may be waiting, or worry over what may never come.
You have this assurance, dear heart, that Jesus Himself, will keep you in His care, preventing you from missing out on the abundance of life, and the endless supply of love that God has for you.
This Christmas Eve, as we ponder the wonder of His great love for us, take time if you can, cherished one, to receive Him anew, in all the ways and places that matter most to you. Remember to trust in what has been done for you already and the fullness of all that is available for you today. Jesus, the Light of the World, has made it so for all mankind, and has made it so, purposefully and intentionally, for you!
