For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]” Romans 11:29 (AMPC)
We can be thinking in these December days of all the gifts we hope to, or have to   buy, and perhaps even a thought or two of what we may receive! With love in our hearts we do our best to show affection and care through our giving, yet despite our best efforts, it does not always work out the way we planned. We may not be able to give in the ways we so long to, and even those perfect gifts sometimes need to be returned!

However, God is the ultimate gift giver, for every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above.  Jesus is the best example of this, as God gave the best gift the world has ever known—His own Son, perfect in all of His ways, to save us from our sin and sorrows, and show us the way to begin again.

As if that was not enough, through Christ, the blessings continue! God gives grace when you need it most; peace when the seas are churned; hope to the failing heart; and strength to those weak and feeble knees. He gives love when we feel unlovable and a place to turn to when others turn away. Wisdom, knowledge, healing, and miracles, are all a part of the many gifts always available, for there is nothing you will ever need that He has not already thought, planned, and prepared for you.

In addition to the gifts God gives to us, He gives gifts in abundance, diverse and distinct, to us, not only for our own joy and pleasure, but as a blessing for others. He equips us with talents, creative abilities, strengths and strategies, that can have great impact  in  life-giving, lasting, and significant ways.

Lavished upon us, to give or receive, these benefits never run out, never run dry, and are never taken back. In fact, He sees the unique, wonderful, gift that is you—given to the world from His heart of love—and has given the world, in all its beauty and wonder, as a gift for you to enjoy, too!

Open your heart wide, delightfully loved one, and with joyous expectation, receive! Let His life-giving, equipping and empowering grace gifts pour forth into your life, flooding you with good things, as He so longs to do! Let them dwell richly in your own heart and flow beautifully, and lovingly, to others, too!

Prayer:

Thank You, Gracious and Loving Father; Jesus, our Great and Glorious, King;  and most Powerful and Precious Holy Spirit, for the honour of knowing and loving You, and for the blessing of being known and loved by You.  That is the greatest gift of all!

And even though I so often feel unworthy, I do receive, in humility and by grace, all the amazing gifts that flow from Your heart of love to me! Empower me to be a good steward of all You send; enable me to walk in the fullness of Your blessings; and to be a blessing to others as You would desire for me to do.

You are a good, good, Father, and Your kindness and amazing grace, is over all!

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, all praise, honour, and glory, belongs to You!
