Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of sympathy (pity and mercy) and the God [Who is the Source] of every comfort (consolation and encouragement)”. 2 Corinthians 1:3 (AMPC) There is no shortage of things that promise to offer some form of comfort or relief—people, places, food, numbing substances like drugs or drink, and more. However, that kind of comfort is fleeting and often leaves you feeling worse off than when you began—tending to take more from you in the end, than give. True comfort and care, the kind that builds you up, strengthens and encourages, comes from God alone. He knows what hurts and why; He knows the heartache and the heartbreaks; and His desire is to give you more, in abundance, than others could ever take away.
Dearest one, God is the source of all comfort—a comfort that is compassionate, kind, and filled with tender care! Why go for the false, the limited and lacking, when the real and genuine, is right here, endless, unlimited, and 100% available to you. The next time you reach out for comfort, encouragement, or care, would you reach to Him first? I promise you, cherished child of God, His response will be swift. He is always there. Prayer: Dearest Father and Lord, I praise You for Your tender mercy, Your comfort and care. I ask You today to come alongside of me, as You so gracious and generously do. Bring Your healing and Your help—I look to and I lean on You. God of endless love, faithful and true, I worship You.
