The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him”. Lamentations 3:22-24 (ESV)
There is something exciting about the first day of a new month or year—a chance to start over—like the crisp pages of a notebook not yet filled, or a shiny whiteboard, clean and fresh, waiting to record the endless possibilities as dreams and visions unfold.
Beloved in Christ, we don’t have to wait for a new month or a new year, for His mercies come to us afresh, pristine and overflowing, with each unfolding day! And not just the day, but moment-by-moment mercies too numerous to count! With every sacred breath given by God above comes the opportunity for something wondrous and heaven sent.
To think new thoughts or forge a different path. And where failure or disappointment has been the norm, you can allow the mistakes to melt away—a valuable learning experience in this journey of life—then simply turn around and try again. And not on your own, precious one, never on your own, for the God of all creation—the Maker of the minutes that fill your day—is right there with you every step of the way!
Faithful and true is the One Who loves you so. Hope in Him, treasured one, and begin anew!
Dearest Lord, I thank You for Your miracle mercies that allow for me to begin anew, today, and every day.
You alone know the messes and the mistakes. The regrets I wish I could leave behind and the circumstances that caused those regrets.
I take You at Your word even now, and I believe in what You can do. All the treasures and all the trials I place in Your loving hands. All the leaving and losses are Yours too. I place my trust in You.
Let’s begin again Lord, help me to let go of all that You don’t want me to carry into today, and help me learn, and begin in a brand new way.
With You all things are possible Lord, and I know new beginnings and hope filled days, are Your specialty! I am so grateful that it could be so.
