“Like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child within me, ceased from fretting.” Psalm 131:2 (AMPC)
No matter how the years have unfolded, whether in perfection or in pain, His love for you is constant—deep, abiding, tender, and true. His love is nurturing, protecting, reviving, and completely focused on you. No one can take that from you cherished one, no matter what they do. And that includes you!
He is Father to the fatherless, bringing healing and hope. He is Mother to those whose hearts are hurting, bringing comfort and tender-hearted care. You are His child, the object of His love and affection. He is attentive to your heart’s cry and to every area of need.
Turn to Him now, dearly loved child. Leave the fears and the fretting behind. Find rest for your weary soul and peace for your troubled mind.
Dearest Jesus, You know how at times “fretting” is my middle name! I have worn myself out with worry many a long day, and paced the floors with anxiety and fear, instead of running to, and leaning on, You.
Your love is there: Your comfort and Your care. Today I choose Lord to put down all those heavy burdens that I was never meant to carry alone, and climb up and sit awhile instead, in the comfort of Your loving embrace.
I declare today Your goodness over my life and Your amazing grace. I know that I can lean into Your love, in quiet confidence and strength, knowing that in all I am concerned about—You know exactly what to do. And to do in a way that is way better than I could ever manage—no matter how hard I tried.
For me it all seems impossible but not to You Lord, the God of all Creation, Who even now is creating all things new!
I love You Lord and with deepest gratitude from a thankful heart, I give all praise and glory to You!
