“We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God's purpose prevails”. Proverbs 19:21 (MSG)

We can spend a lot of time and energy each day trying to figure life out—attempting to comprehend our circumstances, make plans, come to peace with things that have been done or not done—who did what, and why. We look at our options of how to react or better yet, the best way to respond and even so, all of that thinking, planning, wishing and wondering, can take us right back to where we began—without the proper understanding and answers—only to begin again!

The good news is there is a divine antidote to our own limited thoughts and ability to understand—for God Himself is wisdom; the Answer to every question; the substance of all we need. He is well acquainted with all of the how’s and why’s, knows the when’s; and has already figured out exactly what to do. The absolute and very best thing that could happen for you today is that God’s perfect plans would prevail. That is where true life is found, in the life He has planned for you, for contained within each day is everything you need to see you through. And oh, so much more.

Open the door to those plans, beloved one, and welcome them in! Send out a shout of praise that His marvelous ways (which are far higher than ours) will succeed. Lay down everything else, no matter how good it sounds, and choose the better way! Jesus knows the way; will lead the way; and better yet—He is the Way! 

Dear heart, let His plans have their perfect way, His way, in your life today. You will be so happy that you did!

Prayer:

Dearest Lord, it is so true that Your ways are higher than my ways, and yet so often, I push aside what You might be trying to say, to figure it out and try to have things work out, my way.

I lay my own thoughts, feelings, heart’s intents, before You today, Lord, and ask You to sift through them all.

What is of You, let it come to life as never before; and all that is not of You, I ask that in Your kindness and care, You would wash it all away.

Straighten out any messes I have made, Jesus, as only You can do. Today I put my hand in Yours and I follow You!

Come Holy Spirit and bring the purposed of God to pass, in the miraculous, powerful, and life-giving ways that only You can do. I trust in You!
