The Lord is God, Who has shown and given us light [He has illuminated us with grace, freedom, and joy]”. Psalm 118:27 (AMPC)
We can encounter certain situations where someone wants to shine a spotlight on all the things they think are wrong with us, just in case we did not see it or know ourselves! Parents, teachers, spouses, friends—highlight the ways that we don’t measure up to their standards or ideas of how, or who, we should be. We pick up that spotlight and continue to shine a light on all we feel is wrong with us—where we are less than, left behind, and left out. A mirror that continues to display those original pains and wounds—those fatal flaws we work so hard to hide.

But there is another kind of light, beloved—a light you can stand, bask, and bathe in, instead. A place to see your true beauty in the warm embrace of Jesus your Lord. He is the true Light of the whole world and One Who will illuminate you with grace, freedom, and joy instead!

He is Someone Who sees you as you really are, and the only reason He may shine His light on you is to reveal all the lies and anything untrue, so that it can be revealed and removed! Then He will nurture, cultivate, and care for all that is truly, beautifully, and wonderfully, you!

Step out of the darkness, cherished one. Those shadows that have hemmed you in or held you back, and step into the brilliance of His marvelous loving light. Your true beauty will be seen here and the precious and priceless gift that you are to the world will shine through.

Step away from the sorrows of others' perceptions, even the wrong ways you have seen yourself. Invite the truth of God’s light to reveal how He sees you and who you really are. Let everything else go. Allow the breath of God to blow it all away and see anew. Start fresh, with new beginnings for you, where truth reigns and freedom flows, in the true light of His glory and grace!

Let God arise in your midst, beloved one, and let His freedom reign. Joy is waiting, beauty. Abide in Him always. You are safe here, in the light of His love. It will never be dark again!

Prayer:

Oh, Lord, how I need to be illuminated with grace, freedom, and joy today! I receive this promise—this hope that You have shared and I welcome Your divine and holy light into every area of my life!

Let the darkness flee, Lord, the shadows disappear, for Your life-giving Light is greater than it all!

Break through today, Jesus, and lead me to the broad and gracious place You have for me to dwell! You are my Champion Saviour. My glorious and victorious God.  You do all things well.
