“The Lord is God, Who has shown and given us light [He has illuminated us with grace, freedom, and joy].” Psalm 118:27 (AMPC)
There are times in life we can experience situations where someone wants to shine a light on all the things they think are wrong with us, just in case we did not see it or know ourselves! Parents, teachers, spouses, friends—put the spotlight on the ways that we don’t measure up to their standards, or ideas of how and who we should be. We put up that spotlight and continue then to shine a light on all we feel is wrong with us—where we are less than, left-behind, and left-out. A mirror that continues to display those original pains and woundings.
What about another kind of light beloved—what about standing, bathing, and basking instead in the warm embrace of Jesus your Lord, Who is the true Light of the whole world, and Who will illuminate you with grace, freedom, and joy instead!
Here is Someone Who sees you as you really are, and the only reason He shines His light on you is to reveal the darkness, and all that is untrue, so that it can be revealed and removed—then He will nurture, cultivate, and care for all that is truly, beautifully, wonderfully, you!
Step out of the darkness cherished one, those shadows that have hemmed you in and held you back, and step into the wonders of His marvelous love and light. Your true beauty will be seen here and the true gift that you are to the world will shine through.
Step away from the sorrows of others perceptions, even the wrong ways you have seen yourself. Invite the Truth of God’s light to reveal how He sees you and who you really are—let everything else go—let the breath of God blow it all away—and begin anew. Start afresh in the light, the true light of His glory and grace!
Let God arise in your midst, and let His freedom reign. Joy is waiting beloved. Abide in Him. It will never be dark again!
