​​But you, O Lord, are a shield that surrounds me. You are my glory. You hold my head high”. Psalm 3:3 (God’s Word Translation)

Cast down, cast aside, cast off, it doesn’t matter. There is never a shortage of situations in life that will want to force your eyes and your head down—shame, guilt, mistakes made, pain, regrets—it’s all there. Yet along comes Jesus, the Lover of your soul, and gently places His hand under your chin, beckoning you to look up. Look up into the eyes of love and acceptance. Look up into a heart of compassion and understanding. Look up, beloved, into the glorious future He has for you.

When everything and everyone else wants to push you down, put your trust in Him. He will come to you as your true Hero—breaking the power of the words that are meant to harm you; surrounding you with Himself, and effortlessly lifting you up.

He is your Champion Defender; your Spectacular Saviour; and your Glorious God! 

Prayer:

I thank You today, Lord Jesus, for Your marvellous love and Your miracle mercies at work in my life. You know the things that have knocked me down and the things that have held me down. You know what wants to keep me down, even now. 

And yet, because of Your faithful promises, in and over my life, I can rise again to new heights in You! I can soar above the loneliness and the loss, the heartaches and heartbreaks, and all the reasons for regret. 

You don’t see any of that Abba Father, the way I do. You see me, and my whole life, make new.

Come, Lord Jesus, in the fullness of Your love, and do all, and only what You alone can do. Personal and Holy God, generous in love and redemption, You are worthy of all praise and I am most grateful, for gracious and magnificently glorious, You!
