But He caught me—reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out of that ocean of hate, the enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved”! Psalm 18:16-19 (MSG)
Words have power, and negative or judgemental words, wound. Demeaning, demanding, hateful, or judgmental talk can do some real damage. You can’t believe they said what they said; thought what they thought; and gosh it cuts deep in places you didn’t even know your heart could hurt. Chaos comes, confusion too—was it them? Is it you?

You reach for help, something to hold on to, an anchor of truth in a sea of despair and there it is—right before your eyes! Standing with you, reaching down into this well of pain and grief, is this God Who is protective, loving-kind, and crazy about you!

Grab hold, precious one, and let Him pull you out of whatever mess you find yourself in today. Stand with Him in fields of His extravagant love and listen to the voice of truth. His words will heal the hurts; calm the fears; and dry your tears.

Oh, dear heart, God is by your side, always. It’s not what others do to you that matters, as painful as that can be—it is what Jesus has already done for you—making you His own, loving you with an everlasting love, and setting you wondrously, and gloriously, free!

He knows the truth of who you really are, and He loves you exactly where, and how, you are! Beloved one, fear not, His restorative, healing presence is with you—fully and completely on your side. He is your Champion Defender. A healing balm to your weary soul. His wrap-around presence is all that you need!

Prayer:

Dear Lord, I welcome Your presence into my life today. I welcome the wide-open field that You have for me—away from the chaos, confusion, and pain.

Past regrets are swallowed up in Your victory. Failings and failures are wiped away. Today, in You, Lord, is a brand-new day.

Let me be defined not by who I was, or what was done to me, but by You Jesus, Who I am in, and to You, and all that You have done for me.

O, Precious Saviour, I feel Your grip upon my life today, and with a grateful heart, I cling to You, and to the promises You have made.  Let it be for this day, and in all the days to come, I pray.
